Panel Discussion on Sports

The Rice County Historical Society's Coronado Quivira Museum will host a panel discussion celebrating sports and the way sports build and unite communities at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Coronado Quivira Museum, 105 West Lyon in Lyons. This panel discussion will be moderated by Sterling College History Professor Doug Boardman. The panel members are Junior Soeken, Jackie Rogers Schafer, Shane Cordell, and Bud Kelly.

K-State student cited for disorderly conduct

MANHATTAN - A Kansas State student who intentionally elbowed Kansas basketball player Jamari Traylor after Monday's Sunflower Showdown at Bramlage Coliseum has been given a court date, according to media reports. The K-State Police Department said Nathan Power was issued the notice to appear for disorderly conduct.

Registration now open for 2015 Spring Team Time Trial

The Sunflower State Games announces that registration is now open for the Spring Team Time Trial. Event details and registration procedures can be found online at www.sunflowergames.com. This three person cycling team event will take place on Saturday, April 11. Staging for the race will take place at the Historic Lecompton High School, 620 E. Woodson Street in Lecompton. Racing begins at 10 a.m with teams set to start at two minute intervals.

Great Bend High School Panther bowling results

The Great Bend Panther bowling squads made an early departure from town on Saturday morning as they traveled to The Alley in Wichita for the 8 team Andover Tournament. In girls action it was sophomore Allie Brodrick who led the way with her team high 560 series. Following close behind was sophomore Kylynn Keeler with a 533 series, senior Abby Rose with a 515 series and senior Addie Soukup with a 514 series.
