KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles was the NFL's second-leading rusher last season, totaling 1,467 yards in 230 carries as he led the Chiefs to a 10-6 record and was selected to his first career Pro Bowl. Charles combined with Thomas Jones to total 2,363 yards last season, the fourth-highest total in NFL history by teammates with at least 500 yards apiece and the highest amount by Kansas City teammates. Sharp Shooters win tourney

The sixth grade Great Bend Sharp Shooters won the Dodge City Shoot-Out MAYB Basketball Tournament on Jan. 10. They went undefeated in the tournament beating Hays Arsenal, Liberal and Hays Tribe. Players from left to right: Cal Dunekack, Cole Streck, Jack Stelter, Matt Huslig, Drew Nicholson, Sam Hall, Kyler Feist and Devin Guesnier. Coaches are Mike Dunekack and Ryan Streck.

Both the Great Bend boys and girls bowling teams started off their 2015 WAC seasons with home wins against the visiting Dodge City Red Demons. The Panther boys dominated the entire match as they earned all 11 points possible in the contest. The Panthers were led by senior Jeff Meitler who had an exceptional day.
