Topeka beats Great Bend Boom

The Great Bend Boom baseball team dropped three of four games to the last-place Topeka Train Robbers over the weekend. The Boom (8-7) remain in second place in the North Division after a 6-2 start. The Boom play at Garden City Tuesday and return home Wednesday at Al Burns Field against Garden City.

Beloit to host 31st Annual Kansas 8 Man All Star Games

The 31st Annual Kansas 8 Man All Star Football games will be played in Beloit on Saturday, June 11th. The Division I game will be held at 10 a.m. at Trojan Field on North Hersey Avenue. Pregame will begin at 9:30 a.m. with introduction of the players. Braedan Crites of Great Bend and Michael Ryan of Claflin have been selected to play on the West Squad.

Great Bend Boom defeat Train Robbers

Pitcher D.J. Sharabi threw eight innings and drove in two runs to spark the Great Bend Boom (8-4) to an 8-1 baseball victory over the Topeka Train Robbers Thursday at Al Burns Field. Sharabi (4-0, 2.07 ERA) struck out seven batters.

Boom splits with Garden City

The Great Bend Boom gained a split of two games against the Garden City Wind with a 4-0 victory Wednesday at Al Burns Field. The Boom (7-4) play the Topeka Train Robbers Thursday and Friday at home. The Boom travel to Topeka Saturday and Sunday.
