​Barton Athletics present check to Camp Hope

The donation was from Barton Athletics' annual "Pink Out Night," which was held Jan. 30 and featured a variety of coordinated activities to raise money for Camp Hope.

Central Kansas High School All-Star Basketball Classic

The 5th Annual Central Kansas High School All-Star Basketball Classic will be hosted on the campus of Barton Community College in Great Bend on Sunday, April 3. The high school all-star basketball games will feature over 50 of some of the best high school talent from Central Kansas and beyond. The girls' game will tip off at 4 p.m. with the boys' game to follow at 6 p.m. Three point and slam dunk competitions will also be held in conjunction with the two games. Velocity Volleyball Club 14s place at tourney

On March 19 and 20, the Velocity Volleyball Club 14's (8th grade) team placed in a tie for 5th overall at the Heart of America Junior Regional Championships in Kansas City in the 14's division. The Velocity Volleyball Club 14's team competed against 52 other junior volleyball league teams from Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri. As their season comes to a close they are currently ranked #12 out of 168 teams in their respective division. Barton Blazers win Halstead tournament

The fourth grade Barton Blazers placed first in the Halstead MAYB tournament on Saturday. They defeated the Junction City Jays 30-17 in the championship game. The Blazers are 16-3 for the winter MAYB season. Their next tournament is the Winter Finale in Wichita in two weeks. Players include, from left, Mason Moore, Maddox Spray, Colton Brack, Karson Kern, Braden Griffith, Connor DeLong, Drew Heinz, and Kaiden Hoffman.
