INDIANAPOLIS, IN- Jackie Stiles, the legendary basketball and track and field star at Claflin High School during the 1990s, is among 12 individuals who will be inducted into the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) National High School Hall of Fame July 2 at the New Orleans Marriott in New Orleans, Louisiana. The 33rd Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be the closing event of the 96th annual NFHS Summer Meeting.

HAYS- Former Great Bend Panthers Kaylie and Kelsie Doll, Ellinwood's Michelle Miller and Larned's Jessica Johnson were recently named to the MIAA Academic Excellence Award list for the spring 2015 semester.
In recent years there has been ongoing discussion regarding a potential change in distance for KSHSAA high school girls cross country. Surveys of coaches and athletic directors have reflected increasing support to increase the girls' race distance from 4K to 5K in KSHSAA postseason competition. During the October 2014 KSHSAA Regional Administrator meetings, this was a topic of conversation in part, due to a letter from the U.S. Office of Civil Rights notifying KSHSAA of a complaint OCR received.
BELOIT- Central Plains' Layne Bieberle officially closed out his high school career Saturday with nine catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns but it wasn't quite enough as the All Star East team squeaked out a 40-38 victory over the West at Beloit's Trojan Field.
BELOIT- The 30th Annual Kansas 8 Man All Star Football games will be played in Beloit on Saturday, June 6th. The Division I game will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Trojan Field on North Hersey Avenue. Pre-game will begin at 1:30 p.m. with introduction of the players.

Hoisington junior pitcher Karisa Schremmer and fellow junior Marisa Jonas were selected to the CKL second team and honorable mention lists in an announcement Tuesday morning. Jonas was selected as an honorable mention catcher. The duet helped lead the Cardinal softball team to a 13-10 season record following a 13-3 loss Sunday to Girard at the state tournament in Topeka.
WICHITA- Central Plains' Taylor Rolfs finished with a second place slot in the girls 1-A triple jump at last weekend's state track and field championships. Rolfs posted a leap of 35-09 to win the silver. Rolfs recorded another top ten finish in the 300 meter hurdles with a seventh place finish in a time of 49.43.
Hoisington pitcher Brad Reif, second baseman Braiden Crites, and utility player Hunter Hanzlick have been listed second team All-Central Kansas League honorees for the 2015 season. Pitcher Jacob Warnken was tabbed as a CKL honorable mention.
SALINA – St. John's Dean Wade, headed for Kansas State University, scored 15 points and grabbed a team high nine rebounds to help the White team roll past the Blue team 118-91 in Saturday's Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Boys All-Star Game at Mabee Arena.
Local kids ranging from first grade to eighth grade converged on the Memorial Stadium turf this week to improve their football field skills. Head high school coach Tony Crough and his full staff of coaches were on hand to lead athletes through position specific drills. Athletes worked on fundamentals such as throwing, catching, passing and run blocking, firing off the ball, hip movement, proper stance and footwork as well as team blocking concepts, learning plays, and reading defenses.

Great Bend Middle School will hold two football equipment sizing sessions. The first will take place on Monday, June 29 at 5:30 p.m. for eighth grade boys followed by the seventh grade at 6:30 p.m. The second sizing session will be held on Monday, July 6 at the same times. Athletes will meet at the GBMS field house located just west of the middle school. Athletes only need to attend one date. For more information contact coach Jason Perry at (620) 792-9625.
More than fifty participants were involved at this week's football camp held at Memorial Stadium. The camp was faciliated by members of the GBHS football team and coaching staff. The three-day camp concludes Wednesday.
