Meriden-Jefferson West runs by Larned girls

EMPORIA-The Meriden-Jefferson West girls parlayed a 19-8 first-quarter run into a first-round victory, 51-37 , over the Larned girls here Thursday evening at the 4A Div 2 girls championships. Jarred by the first quarter deficit, Larned spent the rest of the game exchanging runs with the Tigers but could never cut into the lead with much success.

Lady Cougars beat Caldwell

DODGE CITY- The Otis-Bison girls made the most of their first state tournament game in 27 years on Wednesday afternoon. The duo of senior Taylor Regan and freshman Madeleine Wiltse led the no. 4 seed Cougars (18-4) to a seven-point victory over fifth-seeded Caldwell (15-7) in the first round of the Class 1A Div II State Tournament.
