On a roll and looking for more the Hoisington Cardinals will have plenty of steam heading into Friday's bout against 3-1 Kingman. At 4-0 the Cards are fresh off a 76-6 routing of visiting Hillsboro (0-4) last week and will close out the two game home stand against the Eagles (3-1) who fell in a 23-19 disappointment last week to visiting Pratt (3-1), a team the Cardinals defeated 34-14 two weeks ago.
LAWRENCE- Kerby Depenbusch placed eighth with a time of 16:36 to lead the Great Bend boys in Saturday's annual Rim Rock Classic cross country meet. Karen Razo finished 15th in 20:58 in the girls' race.
WICHITA- Following a handful of lightning delays the Great Bend High School Panthers were finally able to seal the lid on Wichita North and soured the Redskins homecoming in a 23-12 win during a rain-soaked Friday evening. After a lengthy discussion between game administrators concerning the surrounding storm danger the contest was finally called off with 4:48 remaining in the fourth quarter.
HAYSVILLE- Jesus Sanchez continues his hot streak winning yet another cross country run. The Great Bend eighth grader posted a first place finish in a time of 11.23 at Thursday's Haysville West Invitational.
LIBERAL- Halley Sanders just missed a top ten finish by three strokes scoring 48 at Thursday's Liberal Golf Invitational. Teammate Allison Neeland finished one strike behind firing a 49. Other Great Bend competitors include Carly Dreiling and Brooklyn Burkhart who both finished with identical scores of 54. Mikayla Bowne and Taylor Hommertzheim finished with scores of 55 and 58 respectively.
