ELLINWOOD- Ellinwood track standout McKenna Rugan will be taking her talents to Emporia State next season. Rugan has won seven state track medals her first three years with the Eagles. She has been a part of three school records in the 4x100, 4x400, and 4x800 meter relays. McKenna was also on three state runner up teams: two in cross country, one in track. Rugan is the fifth Ellinwood track athlete to sign in the last two years. She is the seventh to be offered a scholarship.

A 10-0 win in Great Bend's WAC series opener against Dodge City was just the tip of the iceberg for what the Panthers had in store for their guests. The home team pounded out 13 hits in game two and coasted to a 17-0 blowout of the Demons to claim a 2-0 sweep.

In only their second meet of the month the Great Bend jv boys track and field team mustered 58 points and a third place finish out of six teams at their home invitational Tuesday. Garden City and Dodge were the top two finishers with 243 and 147 points. Liberal (41), Hays (40) and Hutchinson (30) rounded out the bottom six in order.
ST. JOHN- It was a silver Tuesday for St. John's jv boys and girls track and field teams.
