HOISINGTON - The Otis-Bison High School boys' basketball team led by 30 points at halftime in a Class 1A Division-II sub-state semifinal game on Thursday night.
NEWTON - In the first round of a Class 5A sub-state tournament game on Thursday night, the No. 6-seeded Great Bend High School Lady Panthers made sure that they wouldn't have a 50-spot planted on them this time around.
It's the third time in three years that the Great Bend High School boys' bowling team has qualified for the Class 5-1A state tournament.

HOISINGTON - The Hoisington High School girls' basketball team put the game away early, going on a 12-2 run that lasted the entire first quarter to leave Salina-Sacred Heart behind.
CLAFLIN - Central Plains High School's Sydney Rugan scored half of her 16 points over the course of the fourth quarter and overtime period, lifting the Lady Oilers to a 61-57 victory over Medicine Lodge on Monday night.
HOISINGTON - The Hoisington High School boys' basketball team opened its postseason run with a 59-28 rout of Russell on Monday.

After Western Athletic Conference champion Hays High School built a 39-25 lead over Great Bend after three quarters on Friday night, the Lady Panthers found their deficit too much to overcome.
This was your prototypical high school boys' basketball tilt between Great Bend and Hays, a low-scoring back-and-forth Western Athletic Conference finale between longtime rivals.
The Great Bend High School boys' bowling team will be heading to the Class 5-1A state tournament on Friday at Northrock Lanes in Wichita after winning its regional on Saturday.

DODGE CITY – Class 2A Central Plains stunned Class 6A Shawnee Mission South 54-38 to advance to Saturday's championship game of the Dodge City Tournament of Champions. The Oilers (10-1) outscored South 30-16 in the second half.

DODGE CITY - Dodge City's girls handed Great Bend its first Western Athletic League loss 55-35 and Dodge City's boys completed a sweep with a 50-36 victory over the Panther boys.

Defending Mid-Winter Classic champion St. John (9-0) drew the top seed, but innovative scheduling gives the unbeaten Tigers three games next week. St. John will open against the Pratt-Macksville loser at 4:45 p.m. But the Tigers will still play in Friday's second semifinal game at 8:15 p.m. against the Pratt-Macksville winner, which is scheduled Tuesday. The other bracket matches Ness City against Nickerson and Larned versus winless Wichita West (0-8) in Thursday's games.
STAFFORD - Hoisington High, ranked third in Class 3A, swept the Stafford High dual competition with a 4-0 record to stay unbeaten in dual matches. Hoisington defeated Bluestem, 70-7; Chaparral 65-6; Lincoln 76-6 and Nickerson 74-3.
