HOISINGTON - Hoisington High's Tanner Cassity (126), No. 2 state-ranked Christopher Ball (145), No. 2 state-ranked Justin Bradley (220) and No. 2 state-ranked Landen Urban (285) earned first place at the Cardinal Classic Wrestling Tournament. The Cardinals scored 139.5 points to finish second behind Marysville (192).

HOISINGTON – Great Bend's unbeaten Cody Liles (132), Eric Vazquez (120) and Keaton Sander (138) placed first at the Cardinal Classic Wrestling Tournament.

The Great Bend Panther middle school wrestling squad concluded its season Saturday with a second place finish at the Bob Threlkel Junior Western Athletic Conference tournament held at Hays High school. The Panthers scored 176 points as a team and had 13 of the 16 varsity athletes place in the top four.

The Great Bend Panther boy's swim team came home with its third consecutive first place finish by winning a quadrangular meet in Hutchinson on Tuesday. Great Bend scored 394 points to win the meet and was followed closely by Rose Hill (340 points), and Hutchinson (330 points) Hutchinson Central Christian rounded out the scoring with 14 points.

LARNED - Gene Keady Classic champion St. John placed Most Valuable Player Cole Kinnamon and Jorge Calleros on the 2015 All-Tournament team. The Tigers beat Larned 55-43 to capture their fourth consecutive Gene Keady Classic championship.

ST. JOHN - The three-time defending state champion St. John Tigers own a 63-game winning streak, which breaks Wichita Heights' previous mark of 62. The streak will be on the line when No. 2 ranked Central Plains (4-0) visits No. 1 ranked St. John Tuesday night.
