Great Bend falls to Dodge City, 51-7

Dodge City was as good as advertised. Maybe even better. The Demons used a brutal 503-yard offensive assault and coasted to a 51-7 victory in a homecoming spoiler against the Panthers on a chilly Friday evening at Memorial Stadium.

Neeland medals a personal best at Hutch meet

HUTCHINSON- Allison Neeland fired a 91 for a personal best and a 16th place finish at Thursday's golf invite at Hutchinson. Two other Panther golfers finished the day with personal bests as Halley Sanders shot 102. Mikayla Bownes finished a stroke behind at 103 while Taylor Hommertzheim shot 104. Kaily Griffith shot a personal best 105 while Brooklyn Burkhart and Carly Dreiling shot scores of 121 and 129.

Panthers slated to face high octane offense against Dodge City

Homecoming has arrived. All the fanfare and festivities will boil down to tonight's showdown pitting one of the most high powered offenses in the WAC against a resilient Panther team that is coming off a 2-1, three-game road swing.

Area football roundup: Week 5

On a roll and looking for more the Hoisington Cardinals will have plenty of steam heading into Friday's bout against 3-1 Kingman. At 4-0 the Cards are fresh off a 76-6 routing of visiting Hillsboro (0-4) last week and will close out the two game home stand against the Eagles (3-1) who fell in a 23-19 disappointment last week to visiting Pratt (3-1), a team the Cardinals defeated 34-14 two weeks ago.

GARDEN CITY- Great Bend senior Macy Moyers finished with a perfect 3-0 record in No. 1 singles and set a new school record in the process Saturday at Garden City.

Depenbusch, Razo finish in top 20 at Rim Rock

LAWRENCE- Kerby Depenbusch placed eighth with a time of 16:36 to lead the Great Bend boys in Saturday's annual Rim Rock Classic cross country meet. Karen Razo finished 15th in 20:58 in the girls' race.

Great Bend spoils North’s homecoming in 23-12 victory

WICHITA- Following a handful of lightning delays the Great Bend High School Panthers were finally able to seal the lid on Wichita North and soured the Redskins homecoming in a 23-12 win during a rain-soaked Friday evening. After a lengthy discussion between game administrators concerning the surrounding storm danger the contest was finally called off with 4:48 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Panther soccer falls to Dodge City in 5-0 shutout

Dodge City scored two free kicks in the opening half and went on to defeat Great Bend, 5-0, in Western Athletic Conference action Thursday at Cavanaugh Fields.
