CLAFLIN – After leading all afternoon, the Central Plains Oilers trailed Spearville 32-28 after the Royal Lancers converted its fourth 2-pointer in the Eight-Man I state football quarterfinals.
MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis scored the game-winning touchdown with 19 seconds left to stun Hoisington High 17-14 Saturday in the Class 3A football playoffs. Hoisington finishes with a 9-2 record as co-champion of the Central Kansas League West Division.

The 1-5A high school boys state swim meet took place this past weekend at the Topeka-Capitol Federal Natatorium in Topeka. Great Bend swimmers results are:
The Hoisington Cardinal Wrestling Team dominated the Regional Tournament held this past Friday and Saturday at Russell. On the first day of competition the team got on a roll and advanced 11 out of their 14 wrestlers into the semifinals on the championship side of the bracket. The team than went on to win 8 of the semifinal matches to secure an insurmountable lead at the conclusion of the first day of competition. The second day went much the same as the first day. The Cardinals advanced all six of their non-championship finalists into the consolation finals.
Both Great Bend Bowling teams concluded their regular season on Thursday as they competed in the WAC Tournament in Garden City. The Lady Panthers dominated the tournament from start to finish. The girls squad captured 17 of the possible 21 points possible as they won the tournament. However, they fell just short of Garden City who was able to hang on to claim the Conference title.
