ST. JOHN - The St. John-Hudson High School volleyball team swept a home triangular on Tuesday night, beating Wichita-Word of Life, 25-7 and 25-10, and Macksville, 25-9 and 25-12.
RUSSELL - Continuing to play a consistent, sometimes overpowering, brand of volleyball, Great Bend High School improved to 8-1 on the season after sweeping a pair of non-conference road matches on Monday night.
After a rough start to the season, the Great Bend High School boys' soccer team has won two straight Western Athletic Conference games, defeating Hays 3-1 on Monday evening at Cavanaugh Field.
CLAFLIN - Central Plains High School quarterback Braeden Crites rushed for two touchdowns and threw for two more , leading the Oilers over Otis-Bison 40-0 on Friday night.
LARNED - Larned High School tailback Landon Erway took off on a 71-yard touchdown sprint on the first play from scrimmage on Friday night.

DODGE CITY – The Great Bend girls basketball team started the Western Athletic Conference race by knocking off Dodge City 52-37, the two-time defending WAC champions.
When high school basketball resumes Tuesday, the Great Bend Panthers will kick off the Western Athletic Conference season at Dodge City.
