Hoisington High School Wrestling results

The Hoisington Middle School Wrestling team put on quite a display this past Monday night as the team traveled to Ellsworth to take on teams from Ellsworth and Beloit. The team won 18 matches while dropping just 10 on the evening. The team was coming off a big tournament win at Russell just this past Friday evening. Despite the team not being able to fill seven weight classes they continue to roll. Staying unbeaten on the season are: Josh Ball (5-0), Cole Steinert (8-0), Dayne Yott (8-0), Wyatt Pedigo (7-0), and Trey Bitter (4-0). Quentin Boxberger has just one loss ...

Cardinal wrestler Ball first at Phillipsburg

PHILLIPSBURG - Hoisington's No. 2 state-ranked Christopher Ball (33-0, 152) won three matches to capture first place at the Phillipsburg Panther Classic. Ball defeated Abilene's No. 5 ranked Trey Hoerner 5-0 in the finals. The Cardinals scored 56 points to place seventh.

Great Bend’s Liles breaks school wrestling records

GODDARD - Great Bend's No. 3 state-ranked wrestler Cody Liles (132) broke school records with 20 pins this season and 137 victories in a high school career while winning five matches in the Goddard dual meet tournament Saturday. Liles beat wrestlers from Campus, Goddard, Liberal and Maize and had a forfeit victory against Goddard Eisenhower. Liles is a three-time state qualifier.

Great Bend High School boys Feb. 3 Salina swim results

Coach Beaumont: "We finished behind a team from Newton that has been a top five team at the state meet each of the last 3-4 years. If you take out the diving points they, we were only 33 points out of first. I think that says a lot about our team this year and how far along we have come. Antoine Flipo qualified for state in the 100 breaststroke. We've never had an exchange student make a state qualifying time, so that was pretty special. Great Bend Panther Bowling results

On Thursday afternoon the Panthers from Great bend hosted the Demons from Dodge City. The Panther boys swept their WAC opponent winning all 11 points. The Panther squad was led by junior Jacob Holden's series of 611 pins which earned him the silver medal on the day. Sophomore Kameron Keener rolled a series of 586 pins which was good enough for the bronze medal. The Panthers tallied 2996 pins to the Demons 2594 pins. Other members of the varsity team included; Kendall Lloyd, Tylar Wagner, Keaton Reneau, and Jordan Black.

Ellinwood CPL A Team Tournament

The Ellinwood Middle School Girls Basketball team ended their season this past week in the Championship Finals of the A Team Tournament. The Eagles entered the tournament as a #6 seed with a 6-6 regular season record. In the quarterfinal round they met up with the #3 seed Macksville Mustangs (7-4) who had beaten them a week and half earlier in the regular season finale by 3 points at home.
