MANHATTAN - Reagan Phelan jump started Central Plains on a 22-2 burst and the Oilers coasted past Pittsburg Colgan 48-24 Wednesday in the Class 2A state basketball tournament. The Oilers' speed and quickness overwhelmed the Panthers.

Radio station to air Oilers

MANHATTAN - Hutchinson radio station KSKU (94.7 FM) will air Central Plains Oiler basketball games from the Class 2A state tournament at Bramlage Coliseum. Cliff Shank and Scott Mitchum from Central Plains will be the broadcasters.

Lady Panther Bowlers runner’s up at state tournament

The Great Bend Lady Panthers claimed the 2nd place trophy at the 2016 State Bowling Tournament at North Rock Lanes in Wichita. The Panthers came up just 16 pins short of the 1st place team from Goddard Eisenhower. The ladies from Great Bend found themselves in 8th place after the first game. "We were very loose and relaxed coming into the tournament but during our first game we let the pressure get to us," said coach Mike Perry.
