Great Bend Middle School Wrestling squad competed in the Dodge City Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday November 14th. The Panthers started off strong against Hugoton winning easily. In the second round matchup of their pool Great Bend faced Garden City Middle school resulting in the only loss of the day for the team. The third round matchup of the tournament paired Great Bend against the Liberal West Warriors. Despite being open at the 85 lb. weight class, Great Bend rallied to defeat the Warriors. CPHS athletes sign letters of intent

After years of success on many levels, multiple state championships, and numerous accolades, Taylor Rolfs and Reagan Phelan of Central Plains High School have made their college choice and signed their national letters of intent for basketball at a signing event hosted at CPHS Thursday. Rolfs signed with Fort Hays State University and Reagan with Washburn University. The two will be opening the next chapter of their basketball careers while looking to lead the Oilers to their third consecutive state championship in their senior season.

GBHS athletes recognized

Special guests at the Unified School District 428 Board of Education meeting Monday night were the Great Bend High School fall sports participants who were recently named All-Conference Athletes. Activities Director David Meter acknowledged the fall-season achievements, and coaches then introduced students, most of whom were present. Board members, administrators, and guests congratulated the athletes.
