HAYS - After a rough start to the Hays High Western Diamond Classic, Great Bend High School's baseball team steadily improved throughout the tournament.
LAKIN - The Larned High School baseball team split a doubleheader on the road against Lakin on Thursday night.
HAYS - Things did not start off well for the Great Bend High School baseball team, which opened the Hays High Diamond Classic on Thursday night against the host.
HAYS - Larned High School split a baseball doublheader with Thomas More Prep, losing the opener 2-0 and winning the nightcap 5-3 Tuesday.
HOISINGTON - The Hoisington High School baseball team swept Ellis on Tuesday, blowing away the Railers 15-0 in three innings in Game 1, and held on for a 2-1 win in Game 2.
DODGE CITY - Both games were close in the baseball doubleheader.
GARDEN CITY - Led by Grant Harris, who was named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year, the Great Bend High School boys' tennis team finished third at the WAC tournament on Monday afternoon.
The Great Bend High School boys' golf team hosted an invitational on Monday at the Club at StoneRidge.
The Great Bend High School girls' swim team placed fourth on Friday at the home invitational.
GREENSBURG - The Ellinwood High School track and field teams won both the girls and boys competition of the Kiowa County Invitational on Friday.
Game 1 was close.
HAYS - It was a struggle to get baserunners around as the Great Bend High School baseball team challenged Hays on the road.
