EL DORADO - After a tough stretch of competition against NCAA foes, the Barton Community College cross-country teams returned to NJCAA competition Friday at the Ollie Isom Invitational at Butler in El Dorado. The men took advantage, placing second behind the legs of Sampson Laari. Host Butler won the event with a score of 25 with Barton taking second, 10 points ahead of third place Cowley College. It was another banner day on the track for Barton Community College standout Lydia Mato. The sophomore shattered the Barton women's record for the 5000m indoor by an astonishing 16 seconds to lead the Cougars during the Holiday Inn Invitational on the campus of the University of Nebraska.
