Barton Community College announces the election of Joe Burger, Caley Carter-Knudsen, and Ray Seib to its Sports Hall of Fame. The Class of 2016 inductees will be recognized and honored at a 3 p.m. induction ceremony to be held on Feb. 6, in the Kirkman Activity Center located on the Barton Campus. Induction ceremony is free and open to the public. Public attendance also encouraged in honoring the inductees in between the women's and men's basketball games versus Dodge City Community College later that evening.
Track and field is all about marks. Most important at this time of the year for the Barton men's track are marks to earn a spot at the NJCAA Championships. The earlier you can hit those marks the better.
Don't look now but the region tournament is just a month away. Although it was just the second time out since the Christmas break for the Barton wrestling team this past weekend, the preparation for regional is definitely underway during the school initial season in the sport.
Barton's search for a new volleyball coach has some to an end. Brandon Stephenson takes over the Barton volleyball program. Stephenson started last week but his hire is pending Board Approval later this month.
The Barton wrestling team started off the 2016 calendar with a trip north to Nebraska. The Cougars took a small group to restart the season as six wrestlers made the trip to the Viking-Warrior Open Saturday.
