Cougars roll to weekend sweep, remain unblemished to begin 2016 season

The Barton Community College volleyball team got its first road test of the season coming away with four wins in the Little Ceasar's Classic held over the weekend in Lamar, Colo. The Cougars began play on Friday with a dominant sweep of Trinidad State Junior College 25-14, 25-21, and 25-14 before winding up the day with a four-set come-from-behind victory over host Lamar Community College 21-25, 25-22, 25-23, and 27-25. The Barton Community College volleyball team opened up the 2016 season and first-year Head Coach Brandon Stephenson's era Tuesday night at the Barton Gym with a sweep of the junior varsity of Kansas Wesleyan University 25-11, 25-16, and 25-14. The Cougars have little time to celebrate the victory as Barton hosts Jayhawk foe Cloud County Community College a 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday night in conference opening match.
