ARKANSAS CITY- Surprise, surprise – Lydia Mato won her event. The sophomore sensation had an easy day of competition this past weekend running in only one event as the Barton Community College women's track team competed in the Tiger Invitational at Cowley College.

Erica Harper is making a strong case for several post season honors - among those is the probable front runner for Jayhawk Conference Division I Player of the Year. If earning Player of the Week is any indication she is in the lead for Player of the Year honors.

The Broncbusters took both the seven inning contests by 12-2 and 10-4 scores while the Cougars took the nine inning nightcaps each day 5-3 and 14-9. Getting a sweep Friday was going to be an arduous task for the Barton Community College softball team. Things started good enough for the Cougars but they could not complete the sweep of the Jayhawk West leaders.
EMPORIA- With two remaining conference meets left to the season, the Barton Community College women's golf team have the luxury of already claiming the conference championship as the Lady Cougars won their fourth straight conference meet this past Monday with a sixty-two stroke victory. Held at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course, Barton held a commanding thirty-nine stroke lead after day one's eighteen holes before widening the gap on Monday's final nine holes.
