Barton winning streak snapped at eight in final visit to Barton Gym for Flax

The final visit to the Barton Gym for Coach Francis Flax was a memorable one. The Brown Mackie College men's basketball coach, wrapping up a 32-year career this season, made his final visit to a gym that he has visited probably about as many times as any other gym but his own over his career. In that final game Saturday afternoon the veteran coach left with a 97-93 win over the host Barton Community College Cougars.

It took a while for the Barton Community College women's basketball team to get things going Tuesday night but in the end it was an easy win for the Cougars. Barton returned home for the first time in five games and rolled to an 88-59 win over the Sterling JV at the Barton Gym.

GARDEN CITY- The Barton Community College baseball team concluded their four-game series in Garden City with a split Saturday to earn a series split with Garden City Community College. The Broncbusters took both the seven inning contests by 12-2 and 10-4 scores while the Cougars took the nine inning nightcaps each day 5-3 and 14-9. EMPORIA- With two remaining conference meets left to the season, the Barton Community College women's golf team have the luxury of already claiming the conference championship as the Lady Cougars won their fourth straight conference meet this past Monday with a sixty-two stroke victory. Held at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course, Barton held a commanding thirty-nine stroke lead after day one's eighteen holes before widening the gap on Monday's final nine holes.
