DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Barton Community College cheer and dance teams competed over the weekend at the 2011 NCA/NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship with both placing in the top 5 of their respective divisions. The cheer squad finished in fourth place at the National Cheerleaders Association's championships in the junior college division.

Barton 4x100-meter relay team sets meet record in Norman, Okla.

NORMAN, Okla. - The Barton Community College track and field men's team won three events and set a meet record at John Jacobs Invitational on Saturday at the University Oklahoma. Barton's 4x100-meter relay team set the meet record while Carmetrick Ross won both the long jump and triple jump for Barton at the meet. In addition, Barton took second in five events. The women's team placed in six events during the competition highlighted by a runner-up effort from Marcelo Solano in the hammer throw.
