Barton softball tops Jayhawks schools in GPA; 10 Cougar teams with 3.0 or better

It was a successful season the diamond for the Barton softball team. A season in which the Cougars spent a lot of time ranked in the Top 10. A season that ended in the Region VI tournament at the hands of the eventually NJCAA National Champion.

Gay, Harris come up short in Olympic trials; Gay awaits relay decision

For one former Barton track star it may be his last go at the Olympics. For another it was an attempt to make his first Olympic team. Both came up short at the United States Olympic trials this past weekend in Eugene, Ore.

Fourth place national finish, Barton’s Nelson earns All-American status at USATF Junior Outdoor Cham

Ricky Nelson of the Barton Community College men's track and field team placed fourth Sunday in the men's discus throw at the 2016 USA Track and Field Junior Outdoor Championships held in Clovis, Calif. Outside of the top two USA automatic qualifiers for the World Championships, the returning sophomore from Belleville, Ill., earned Junior All-American status awarded to the top six placers.

Barton Softball’s Wood named third team NFCA All-American

Brittany Wood of the Barton Community College softball team was recently named to the third team of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American selections. Recognized among 48 Division I student athletes across the nation of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Wood was one of 12 outfielders selected joining pitcher Madison Didion as the second Lady Cougar to earn national accolades for the 2016 season.

Barton Softball’s Wood and Didion named NFCA Regional All-American

Brittany Wood and Madison Didion of the Barton Community College softball team was recently named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) West Region All-American team recognizing Division I players of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Wood led the selections as one of four outfielders named to the first team while Didion was honored as one of the top six pitchers in the region landing on the second team. Sherrod becomes seventh Barton men’s soccer player committed to the next level

Matt Sherrod added his name to the list of Barton Community College men's soccer players committing to play next season at the four year level. A midfielder from Maize, Sherrod will finish his two remaining years of eligibility at the NAIA level playing for Friends University in Wichita.

The Barton Community College women's basketball program under first year head coach Alan Clark announces additional Kansas signings for the 2016 Lady Cougar season. Joining already announced Lauren Welsch of Great Bend High School, will be Jordan Clouse of Riley County High School, Ashley Holler of Moundridge High School, and Lincoln High School's Grace Walford.
