Ricky Nelson of the Barton Community College men's track and field team placed fourth Sunday in the men's discus throw at the 2016 USA Track and Field Junior Outdoor Championships held in Clovis, Calif. Outside of the top two USA automatic qualifiers for the World Championships, the returning sophomore from Belleville, Ill., earned Junior All-American status awarded to the top six placers.
Brittany Wood of the Barton Community College softball team was recently named to the third team of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American selections. Recognized among 48 Division I student athletes across the nation of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Wood was one of 12 outfielders selected joining pitcher Madison Didion as the second Lady Cougar to earn national accolades for the 2016 season.

Matt Sherrod added his name to the list of Barton Community College men's soccer players committing to play next season at the four year level. A midfielder from Maize, Sherrod will finish his two remaining years of eligibility at the NAIA level playing for Friends University in Wichita.
The Barton Community College women's basketball program under first year head coach Alan Clark announces additional Kansas signings for the 2016 Lady Cougar season.
