Students begin John Deere Construction and Forestry Technology Program
WICHITA – Thirteen students began the 74-week Construction and Forestry Technology program at Southeast Community College in Milford, Neb. The program is a partnership between John Deere Construction and Forestry, participating John Deere dealerships and local colleges. As a John Deere partnership program, it is designed specifically to prepare individuals for trouble shooting and repair of construction equipment. On July 6, 2009, Great Bend Regional Hospital celebrated the birth of its first baby functioning as a full service hospital. Narrowbanding deadline nears for Mobile Radio Operators
Farmers, fleet operators, schools and government agencies operating business band or Private Land Mobile Radio (PLMR) systems are facing a critical Jan. 1, 2013, deadline. By that date, the FCC has mandated that all private PLMR licensees operating below 512 MHz move to 12.5 kHz narrowband voice channels.

Heart Association declares GBRH Emergent Stroke Ready
Great Bend Regional Hospital has been documented as able to adequately care for a stroke patient brought to the facility, the American Heart Association and the Kansas State Stroke Task Force announced last Wednesday. GBRH was added to a list that already included Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington as hospitals that provided the necessary documentation to be named as Emergent Stroke Ready as part of the Kansas Initiative For Stroke Survival (KISS).
