A&W Restaurant opening in Great Bend

A new A&W Restaurant is opening in Great Bend. The location is at 3800 10th Street just across the street from Wal-Mart. The current Long John Silver's restaurant is being redesigned to now include an A&W. The A&W will be opening the first part of December, and have a celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony with Manager Vera Conley and Team A&W/LJS.

Quarles named CEO of American State Bank & Trust

Greg M. Quarles has been named President and CEO of American State Bank & Trust in Great Bend. Since 2005, Quarles has served as President and Chief Risk Officer of H&R Block Bank and Financial Services. Originally from Pampa, Texas he began his career in 1982 as a loan officer with Lubbock National Bank. He joined the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in 1987 serving in the Midwestern District, including western Kansas. Quarles rose through the ranks of the OCC to become Assistant Deputy Comptroller for Credit Card Banks.

Horse Riders Shine In 12th Annual Rosewood Rodeo
