Inaugural Kickball Tourney a hit for Rosewood Services clients and employees
The game was kickball, not baseball, but it was still a hit for Rosewood Services Inc. More than 80 staff, clients, volunteers and fans participated in the evening event June 17, held at Great Bend Middle School. The inaugural event focuses on camaraderie through competition, and was organized by Rosewood employees Amanda Fellers and Erika Julian, explained Activity Coordinator Jennifer Stoddard.
Credit Union Of America announces new Assistant Branch Manager
On May 23, Credit Union of America (CUA) named Lana Dietz Assistant Manager of the Great Bend branch. Dietz will assist Kelly Higgins, Branch Manager, in all operations of the facility, ensuring organizational, financial, and service goals are met. She will also underwrite consumer and real estate loans at the Great Bend location.
Credit Union of America and First Choice Credit Union announce intent to merge
Bob Thurman, Credit Union of America President, announced this week, "The Boards of Directors from both Credit Union of America and First Choice Credit Union have signed letters of intent to merge the two credit unions into one financial cooperative under the Credit Union of America name. Both credit unions are financially strong and committed to excellence in service to their memberships."
Family Crisis Center accepts check
Laura Patzner, Executive Director of the Family Crisis Center, accepts a check from Pam Chambers, Administrator of Great Bend Regional Hospital on behalf of Human (e) Motion the run-bike-walk event held June 18th at the hospital. All proceeds from the event went to the Family Crisis Center to support their agency needs.

Heart Association declares GBRH Emergent Stroke Ready
Great Bend Regional Hospital has been documented as able to adequately care for a stroke patient brought to the facility, the American Heart Association and the Kansas State Stroke Task Force announced last Wednesday. GBRH was added to a list that already included Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington as hospitals that provided the necessary documentation to be named as Emergent Stroke Ready as part of the Kansas Initiative For Stroke Survival (KISS).
