BCC announces schedule change for Leadership Excellence series
Barton Community College's Leadership Excellence Series schedule has been changed. The morning program offering all four sessions has been changed to Tuesday, March 8, meeting from 8 a.m. to noon at the Front Door, 1615 10th Street, Great Bend. The fee for the March 8 morning sessions is $65. The series of four separate lunch sessions has been canceled.
Barton offers two business courses in hybrid format
Barton Community College is offering two business courses as hybrid classes in the spring semester, beginning March 30 and ending May 11.
Braymer joins Shear Expressions

This prestigious membership has been awarded to the too 2 percent of the approximately 96,600 sales associates/representatives worldwide in the Coldwell Banker system.
Linderer and Elliot gain QKA designation
Russell Linderer and Mindy Elliott of CPI Qualified Plan Consultants Inc. (CPI) have recently passed all of the required exams to attain their Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation through the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries. These exams include the Retirement Plan Fundamentals (RPF-1 & RPF-2) exams, the Administrative and Qualification Issues of Retirement Plans (DC-1) exam and, the Administrative Issues of Defined Contribution Plans (DC-2) exam.

C & V sponsoring OSHA/lead safe training
C & V Home Improvement, specializing in replacement windows and door, siding, guttering, and weatherization services, is partnering with the Kansas Building Industry Workers Compensation Fund (KBIWCF) to offer Occupational Safety and Health Administration training for contractors in Central Kansas. The 10 hour course will teach basic OSHA regulations and practices for construction workers.

Family Crisis Center receives $2,000 donation from Verizon Wireless for domestic violence prevention
Verizon Wireless announced today that it has donated $2,000 to Family Crisis Center, based in Great Bend, as part of the company's national HopeLine program, which is dedicated to assisting communities, local shelters and agencies in ending domestic violence. Family Crisis Center is one of 16 domestic violence prevention organizations in Kansas that will be receiving funds to support local education programs and shelter operations.
Kansas chocolates offered at Heart of Kansas
There is something new and sweet at the Heart of Kansas Mercantile, one of the MyTown stores. The shop, which specializes in products made in Kansas, is now featuring chocolates produced by the Sweet Granada, a candy shop in Emporia.

In honor of her career achievements, Jil Johnson of Great Bend has earned the use of the exclusive Mary Kay pink Cadillac. Johnson took delivery of a 2011 Cadillac SRX at Dove Cadillac dealership in Great Bend.

To better educate visitors on the unique Cheyenne Bottoms history, management, wetlands and wildlife, the Kansas Wetlands Education Center of Fort Hays State University's Sternberg Museum of Natural History is now offering guided van tours.
