Walmart Foundation Seeking Kansas nonprofits for giving program

The Walmart Foundation State Giving Council Program will open the application period for its fourth cycle of giving on Sept. 7. Kansas nonprofit organizations can apply for funding to support programs within the scope of the "Focused Giving" areas that include hunger relief, healthy eating or career opportunity. KAKE TV was recently awarded a regional Emmy for outstanding newscast by the Heartland Chapter of the National Television Academy Awards. KAKE's "Good Morning Kansas" program was honored with the award for Best Morning Newscast – Medium Market.
