Euphoria Dance Center of Great Bend has committed to a full schedule of dance competitions this season. On April 12 and 13, dancers attended the Edge competition in Wichita for the first time, and came home with plenty of gold.
Great Bend Regional Hospital is developing a volunteer program to further enhance the focus on its patients. GBRH is seeking volunteers to help in various departments throughout the hospital. They will provide a variety of services that support the medical and non-medical needs of the patients and their families.
Maribeth Shafer from the Central Kansas Library System in Great Bend was selected to attend the prestigious Mountain Plains Library Association's Leadership Institute. The week-long Institute was held at Estes Park, Colo., in April and Shafer was one of 30 participants selected to participate.

Dance by Design, Great Bend, will hold its eighth annual spring recital, Saturday, May 3, at the Hoisington High School auditorium. Two performances will be held, one at 5 p.m. and the second at 7 p.m. The theme will be "Dance Happy," and owner and instructor Lee Ann Bashor welcomes the public to attend.
Saint Francis Community Services (SFCS) has been awarded two grants that will be used to help fund the non-profit, community-based child and family services agency's independent living technical skills program. The program, Independent Living Skills and Drills, serves foster youth who are about to "age out" of the foster care system on their 18th birthday and who have no family support system.
