The Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) has selected a new director to head the Northern Parole Region (NPR), overseeing the 10 regional parole offices and the more than 2,500 offenders paroled in the northern half of the state. This area includes Barton County.
Landmark National Bank is partnering with the Golden Belt Humane Society in order to raise funds and awareness with a "Dog for a Dog" event. Landmark associates will be grilling and serving hot dogs with a drink for a donation to Golden Belt Humane Society. The event is from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Oct. 2 at Landmark's 1623 Main Street location. Donations of pet supplies, dog food and any other items the Humane Society can use is encouraged. Donations can also be dropped off at Landmark's other Great Bend location 5200 Broadway.
