Omaha consumer loses $1,400 to scammers posing as law enforcement

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) serving Nebraska, South Dakota, The Kansas Plains and Southwest Iowa is issuing an alert regarding a variety of telephone scams. Monday, an Omaha man reported to the BBB that individuals claiming to be with the State Sheriff's Office and also the Legal Department of the Federal Crime Enforcement Network used coercion and fear tactics to steal $1,400 from him.

Hays brewary earns national 'Small Brewpub' titles

HAYS - Gella's Diner & Lb. Brewing Co. and its brewmaster Gerald Wyman, obtained the title of Small Brewpub and Small Brewpub Brewer Of The Year, Oct. 12 at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF), the largest commercial beer competition in the world. This is the first such achievement for a Kansas brewery in the 27 years of the GABF competition. In addition, Gella's Diner & Lb. Brewing Co. received gold and silver medals for their American Hefeweizen and American Wheat at this year's competition.
