Center offers extreme recycling

Extreme Recycling is an electronic scrap recycling facility in Topeka. It is one of only five permitted electronic scrap processers in Kansas. The company processes an average of 168,000 pounds of electronic waste per month, 10 percent of which is collected directly from households and 90 percent of which is collected from businesses. Extreme Recycling has a process for each item that comes into their facility.

WINFIELD – Green Team Southwestern was founded in 2008 in response to the growing interest in environmental stewardship on the Southwestern College campus in Winfield. Worms can recycle garbage

In 2006, the U.S. EPA estimated that 55-65 percent of the waste generated in the United States is residential. Most of what we throw away is organic materials that could be vermicomposted, composted, or recycled.
