Kansas 2014 ACT college readiness scores rebound

The percentage of Kansas high school graduates meeting college readiness benchmarks in all areas measured on the ACT college entrance exam, increased for the fourth year in a row, and the average composite score recorded its largest increase since 2011.

Father/son featured in Sterling musical

Though the shows central relationship is that of a ten-year old boy and his irrepressible Aunt, there's a strong father-son vibe at the center of the Sterling Community Theatre Troupes production of the classic Broadway musical Mame. The show will be part of Sterlings Old Fashioned Fourth of July celebration next at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, and Saturday, July 5, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, in the Sterling High School Theatre.

Barton Community College students named to President’s and Dean’s List for spring 2014

Barton Community College has named 204 students to the President's List for the spring 2014 semester. To qualify for this honor, students must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 or "A" letter scale.
