The United States Achievement Academy announces that Kaylie M. Doll and Kelsie L. Doll from Great Bend have been recognized by the United States Achievement Academy as students of excellence in Athletics and Honor Roll.

K-State Proud, the first ever all-university, student-led campaign at K-State, is back for its sixth year of students helping students. Guided by the leadership of the K-State Student Foundation, as well as four co-chairs, an advisory board of K-State students and two honorary chairs, K-State Proud is designed to give students the opportunity to help their fellow students and show their pride through philanthropy.

On Jan. 27 the Great Bend Middle School Jazz Ensemble participated in the annual Hutchinson Community College 2012 Winter Jazz Clinic. Great Bend Middle School announces students who received the Above and Beyond Award for the second nine weeks. The students are nominated by their teachers for going above and beyond the call of duty in becoming a good citizen of GBMS. The student receives a certificate, and a pizza and pop luncheon with the administrators.
