GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. - On Thursday, Dollar General Literacy Foundation awarded Eisenhower Elementary School in Great Bend a $2,500 grant to support its VIP Lunch Club program. The local grant is part of over $4 million awarded on Sept. 10 to approximately 870 schools, nonprofits and organizations across the across the 43 states Dollar General serves.
A new Nevada law that would create educational savings accounts that parents could use to mix and match educational needs has come under fire, with the ACLU filing a lawsuit alleging that parents who choose to use those funds to pay tuition at religious schools would be violating the state's Blaine Amendment.
