Seeds of Faith welcomes Pastor Wayne

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Leadership Team of the Dominican Sisters of Peace issued a statement decrying President Trump's decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which will put 800,000 undocumented youth who have grown up in the United States at risk.

"Back to Church Sunday," part of a national movement of churches across America, will be held at First United Methodist Church in Great Bend at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 17, followed by a free picnic lunch. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Local churches combine VBS for missions project

During the week of July 24-28 at First United Methodist Church, several churches united to bring 85 children in Great Bend closer to God and help our community. First Congregational United Church of Christ, Trinity United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church and King United Methodist Church, along with 32 volunteers, hosted "Hero Central" showing children how to discover their strength in God.

First Baptist of Ellinwood to host Awana program

Ice cream social, bake sale to help with medical expenses

MILBERGER - United Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Milberger will host a homemade ice cream social and bake sale from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, at the church. A freewill offering will be taken for the ice cream, and bake sale items will be available as priced.

Martin reinstated as Deacon

George Martin, Ellinwood, was reinstated to the Sacred Order of Deacons by the Rt. Rev. Michael Milliken on Sunday, Feb. 26, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Great Bend. The Rev. Milliken is Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Kansas.
