Lenten Luncheon

The next Lenten Luncheon will Wednesday, March 21, at First Presbyterian Church, 2400 Washington St. First Congregational Church/UCC and First Church of the Nazarene will be the hosts. Sr. Jane Belanger, OP, Heartland Farm Community, will be the speaker. Serving begins at noon (not earlier) and continues to 1 p.m. A freewill offering is suggested to help defray the expenses incurred by the host congregation. The public is welcome to attend all of the luncheons.

Hold onto lessons of God

I find it interesting that we are entering the season of Lent, a time of penance and introspection, and the Old Testament lesson talks about Rainbows. There is a little girl at this house, and the place is full of rainbows, as well as pink ponies, sweetness, and love. There doesn't seem to be much contemplation and self-examination in that kind of thing.
