Bands, fans enjoy central Kansas venue

Christian rock band Manic Drive returns to Great Bend on Sunday, Feb. 9, with two other musical acts, Consumed by Fire and Ryan Stevenson. All three acts will appear at the First Assembly of God Church, 601 Patton Road, starting at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m., said Erin Powers, local spokesman for the concert.

Mission invites Christians to G.R.O.W.

For three evenings in February, area Christians are invited to a conference on growing in faith in their daily lives and relationships. Prince of Peace Parish, in cooperation with the national ministries of Heart to Heart Communications, will host the series God Revives Our World (G.R.O.W.), presented by Heart to Heart founders Father Norman Douglas and Larry Vuillemin.

Father Murphy, oldest Catholic priest in Kansas, retires

OLMITZ - Father Ultan Murphy, 87, retired Jan. 3, after 33 years as pastor of St. Ann's Parish in Olmitz. At his retirement, he had the distinction of being the oldest Catholic pastor in the state of Kansas.

First UMC to host Unity Prayer Service

Fair to be installed as new pastor for Immanuel UCC

ELLINWOOD - Immanuel United Church of Christ is pleased to announce the installation of the Rev. Jennifer Fair as pastor and teacher of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood. This Sunday, April 5, St. Mark Lutheran, 2101 Jackson, Great Bend, and St. Paul Lutheran, Galatia, will begin their spring/summer service schedule. St. Paul worship service will begin at 9 a.m., followed by Sunday School at 10 a.m. St. Mark will hold fellowship at 10 a.m., followed by worship service and Children's Church beginning at 11 a.m.
