Dominican Sisters of Peace speak out for immigration reform
The Dominican Sisters of Peace have taken an official stance promoting comprehensive immigration reform, a spokesman for the congregation of Catholic Sisters said.

Bishop's visit
Bishop Michael Milliken will officiate at 11 a.m. on Sunday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 17th and Adams. This will be the first visit of Bishop Milliken since becoming the Bishop of the Diocese of Western Kansas. The Bishop is a wonderful speaker and is working very hard to bring change and growth to the diocese. Everyone is invited to attend the service.
Rush County choir to present ‘Canticle of Joy’
The Rush County Community Choir will present "Canticle of Joy" at 2 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church in La Crosse, and at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church in McCracken. The McCracken United Methodist Church English handbell choir will also perform at the 4:30 p.m. program. Refreshments will be served. The programs are sponsored by the Pro-Art Music Club, and directed by Barbara Reinert.

Seventh-day Adventist Sanctuary groundbreaking The Great Bend Seventh-day Adventist congregation celebrated groundbreaking for their new sanctuary at noon Nov. 22. Catholic Social Service invites the public to “Blow Bubbles for Babies”
November is adoption awareness month and Catholic Social Service is hosting the first annual Bubbles for Babies event from Nov. 14 to 18 to raise awareness about infant adoption. The fun, week-long celebration is an opportunity for individuals to pick up a bottle of bubbles and blow bubbles-both real and virtual-about their experiences and stories of adoption. The event culminates on Nov. 19, National Adoption Day, when one name will be drawn for a very nice prize basket.

First Christian Church at Broadway and K-96 are expecting their second load of pumpkins this season.
