Responses to Boston reveal beliefs

As you are aware, we have suffered an attack on hundreds of innocent victims in America at the Boston Marathon. The scene, as I watched it, was almost surreal. People down on the race track which was full of blood and even body parts. First responders and volunteers rushed in to take down barricades in order to render aid.

Christian Motorcycle Association plans Bikes & Blues Rally

The Christian Motorcyclists Association invites everyone to meet in the City Park in Macksville on May 4, for the fourth annual Macksville Bikes & Blues Rally. The event starts at noon with a prayer and the CMA's "Run for the Son" ride. There will be live music, food venders and camping available in the park.

Camp for foster kids confronts abuse, changes lives

Abused and neglected children know what it's like to feel unnoticed. When these kids are also in the foster care system, it often becomes a way of life. This summer, faith-based Royal Family Kids Camp will open its first camp for western Kansas' abused and neglected foster kids, as a way to show them that there are others who see them and care about their lives.

New ministry emerges from life changing tragedy

Lora Jones' life changed drastically when she and her family were involved in a terrible automobile accident. Her husband and son died at the scene. Her daughter died later that night in the same hospital where Lora had been taken.

'Life is Beautiful' showing Friday

The 1997 motion picture, "Life is Beautiful," will be shown at 6:15 p.m. Friday, March 27, as part of the Heartland Center for Spirituality's latest series of "Movies with a Message." The movie begins at 6:15 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters of Peace, 3600 Broadway Ave. A freewill offering will be accepted to offset the cost of refreshments.

Fish fry is Friday

HOISINGTON - Everyone is invited to an "All You Can Eat" fish fry from 5:30-7:30 p.m. tonight at the Hoisington Knights of Columbus Hall. Members will be serving Alaskan pollock, coleslaw, scalloped potatoes and drinks. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-11 and children under 4 eat for free. All proceeds support area charities.

A new video about Jesus for the Easter season will be released Friday by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Elders from the Great Bend ward said the video is about 2-3 minutes long and can be found on the website www.HeLives.mormom.org.

The Jehovah's Witness New World Translation says He was "a god" (John 1:1). Notice the small "g." Rabbi Shraga Simmons says that, according to Judaism, "Jews to not accept Jesus as the messiah."

Students gather to celebrate their Christian and Jewish heritage
