George Martin, Ellinwood, was reinstated to the Sacred Order of Deacons by the Rt. Rev. Michael Milliken on Sunday, Feb. 26, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Great Bend. The Rev. Milliken is Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Kansas.

The Bradley Family Gospel Singers return for a Thanksgiving time performance Friday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. at Larned's Eschu Chapel, CME Church. The church is located at 1220 Carrol Ave., Larned. This Service of Praise and Worship is a longtime Larned tradition, and all are invited to attend.
Posted in the Friday paper on the Religion page, the date for the Trinity Lutheran Church chicken noodle and potato soup supper was wrong. The actual date is from 5-7 p.m. on Nov. 4 in the Fellowship hall of the church located at 24th and Adams in Great Bend.
On Sunday, Oct. 9, Marlis Shamblin will be speaking at the 1st Church of the Nazarene, 4811 Broadway Ave. in Great Bend. Doors will be open at 5:30p.m., and the service will start at 6 p.m., followed by a time of fellowship afterward.

HOISINGTON - "In Memoriam," a program of music on the organ, reminiscences and tales, drama, fun, and more will be performed Sunday, Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, on Main Street, in Hoisington. Organist Craig Jaynes returns home to Hoisington and will perform free of charge, and a freewill offering to benefit Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer will be accepted.

The Heartland Center for Spirituality staff and advisory council is in the midst of planning and preparations for the second annual "Hero for Heartland" Afternoon Tea and Savory Delights. This event will take place on Sunday April 24 with a come and go Tea and Tours of the Great Bend Dominican Motherhouse from 1 – 4 p.m. Advisory council members Sr Jane Belanger, Carrie Buhler, Keith Funk, Danny Ginn, Dixie Heinrich, Ken Holderread, Pattie McGurk, Sclie Murray, Ken Moeder and Denise Wilkens along with committee members, Karen Axman, Mary Klinge and Judy Spangler have been instrumental in the planning stages.
ELLINWOOD - The UCC and Methodist Churches will hold their annual hog feed Sunday night from 5 to 7 p.m. at 701 N. Fritz, Ellinwood. Proceeds from free will donations will go to the Church Missions funds in both churches. Great food and joyous fellowship are promised for all.
Dayoung Kimn a fourth generation Christian born and raised in Seoul, Korea will be ministering at Faith Community Church April 16 and 17. Dayoung immigrated to the US in 1979. He received his training from "Youth with a Mission," of Hawaii and received his ordination from the International Church of Foursquare Gospel.
