Lenten luncheon: Central Baptist

Central Baptist Church, 3301 Lakin Ave., will host the final Lenten Luncheon of 2014 at noon Wednesday, April 16. Host pastor is Dr. Joan Harrington, and the speaker will be LeRoy Keith, pastor of First Baptist Church. Serving is at noon (not earlier) and all are welcome at the ecumenical gathering for fellowship, personal reflection and spiritual growth. A freewill offering will be taken to defray the expenses of the host congregation.

Hinkle to present 'Increase the Reach Summit'

Hearts Aflame Women's Conference moves to Dream Center

The eighth annual Hearts Aflame Women's Conference will be held Saturday, March 29, at the Central Kansas Dream Center, 2100 Broadway Ave., Great Bend. Admission is free. All proceeds collected from freewill offerings will go to the Dream Center, which offers faith-based community services.

The public is invited to the next Breakout in Worship, set for 7 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Perkins restaurant, 2920 10th St. in Great Bend. Worship will be led by Pastor Steve Hopkins of Hoisington, with a message delivered by Ted DeTello of Pawnee Rock Praise Ranch. During the meeting participants will be praying for revival.

St. Xavier Catholic Church in Seward will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the church building, on May 25. Bishop John Balthasar Brungardt of Dodge City will attend. There will be a blessing at 10:15 a.m. followed by Mass. After Mass, there will be a covered dish lunch.
