Let us work for a world where all can sit in peace under their own fig trees, allowing others do the same. First, everyone will need to plant a tree, and help those who don't have seeds or shovels. May we enjoy the work, the fellowship, the shade and fruit.
Daniel Hammeke of Great Bend will speak at the Aglow Lighthouse, this Saturday, Jan. 10, at Perkins Family Restaurant, 2920 10th St. Coffee and social time are at 9 a.m., and the program will start at 9:30.
The Barton County Association of Churches is planning its annual Christian Unity Service. It will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18 in the Central Kansas Dream Center Chapel, 2100 Broadway Ave. The chapel is located in what was formerly the gymnasium when the building housed Roosevelt Junior High School.

SEWARD - The Most Rev. John Balthasar Brungardt, bishop of the diocese of Dodge City, will officiate the Mass on Memorial Day, May 25, at St. Xavier Catholic Church in Seward. Bishop Brungardt will also install a first-class relic of Blessed Jose Luis Sanchez del Rio.
