First Baptist of Ellinwood to host Awana program

ELLINWOOD - The First Baptist Church of Ellinwood has the children's Awana program during the school year for kids from 4 years old through 8th grade. They will take registrations from 6:30-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the Ellinwood Grade School lunch room.

Ice cream social, bake sale to help with medical expenses

MILBERGER - United Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Milberger will host a homemade ice cream social and bake sale from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, at the church. A freewill offering will be taken for the ice cream, and bake sale items will be available as priced.

Zumba Party coming Saturday

Zumba instructors met recently to prepare for the great Zumba Party, "The 2017 Zumbathon," scheduled for Saturday, July 8, at Prince of Peace Parish's Saint Rose Auditorium, 1412 Baker St. The instructors said they are very motivated for this great cause of supporting the prayers and devotions of the parish and encourage the community to do the same.

Martin reinstated as Deacon

George Martin, Ellinwood, was reinstated to the Sacred Order of Deacons by the Rt. Rev. Michael Milliken on Sunday, Feb. 26, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Great Bend. The Rev. Milliken is Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Kansas.
