Researcher works with urban churches to develop cancer communication plans

LAWRENCE - African-American men and women are No. 1 and 2, respectively, when it comes to mortality rates from colorectal cancer, yet informative programs aimed at reaching these populations are rare. A University of Kansas professor has published initial findings from a program aimed at studying the effectiveness of urban churches in leading efforts to communicate information about colorectal cancer to African-Americans.

Fair to be installed as new pastor for Immanuel UCC

ELLINWOOD - Immanuel United Church of Christ is pleased to announce the installation of the Rev. Jennifer Fair as pastor and teacher of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood.
