HOISINGTON - Fears that all children face and how the Bible tackles those very fears in the life of one of its principle characters is the focus of Vacation Bible School at New Life Baptist, 364 West 12, Hoisington. Running 6:30-8:30 p.m., Aug. 5-9, the VBS is open to all children, ages 4 through finished 6th grade.

DODGE CITY - Two nationally known speakers will deliver keynote addresses Aug. 24 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City for the annual Stewardship Day for the Catholic Diocese of Dodge City.

CrossPoint Church's youth group will travel to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo., at the conclusion of vacation Bible school, youth pastor Randy Mills said. In addition to that, a Christian rap singer will come to Great Bend.

MANHATTAN - The last time, we discussed the phenomenon of an increase of folks claiming no church attendance while the number of those claiming to be committed to religious beliefs remaining stable over the years. This came from an article done by R. R. Reno of Hillsdale College. In his article titled Religion and Public Life in America, he cited a recent study, as well as, federal census statistics to build his case.

SEWARD - The Most Rev. John Balthasar Brungardt, bishop of the diocese of Dodge City, will officiate the Mass on Memorial Day, May 25, at St. Xavier Catholic Church in Seward. Bishop Brungardt will also install a first-class relic of Blessed Jose Luis Sanchez del Rio.
