Prince of Peace Parish is will experiment with a new time for Sunday Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4100 Broadway Ave. Instead of Masses at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., Mass will be held there at 9:30 a.m. from July 1 through Sept. 30, Father Reggie Urban said.
CLAY CENTER – We are in the midst of an ongoing crisis within the ranks of our young men and what they are seeing is not inspiring them to become Men of Honor. Many are influenced by what they see in sports, music, television, movies and they are not seeing positive role models. Additionally, a growing number of young men, especially in our inner cities, are starved for good examples in their own home. Sadly, some just do not have a dad in their life. Indeed, a child who has grown up with a loving and honorable Father is blessed.
Beginning this week, Grace Community Church is shifting to a new Sunday morning schedule. There will continue to be two morning services. They will now be at 9 and 11:15 a.m. The Sunday School/Adult Bible Fellowship hour will fall in between at 10:15 a.m.

ELLINWOOD - The Memory Makers scrapbooking group will host a two-day scrapping event beginning today at noon at First Baptist Church, located at 503 A SE 110 Ave. in rural Ellinwood. The event will continue today until midnight and will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday, continuing to 9 p.m. Admission is free, but participants are asked to bring a snack to share, said Pam Hendricks with the church. No reservation is needed.

Recently, the Gallop Poll organization came out with its annual morality poll for America. This past weekend, Dr. Richard Land commented on the poll during his Richard Land Live program. I saw some interesting things in both and a need to return to what the Bible has to say.

I am sure that everyone has noticed that the price of gasoline has been going up for the last couple of years. Most folks have also been aware of the debate over whether to drill and refine more oil here in America or to restrict that drilling. This debate also involves the debate over the building of a pipeline from Canada to Texas. In each case, the administration, with the aid of environmentalists, has restricted this drilling. What are the effects of these decisions? Are there other consequences besides rising oil prices? Do we have a demonstrated solution?
Members of the Thr3Elements youth group at CrossPoint Church will don their favorite superhero costumes this weekend to help battle hunger. The youth, in grades 7-12, are inviting community members to become heros as well by donating items to the Barton County Community Food Bank, Youth Pastor Randy Mills said.
