I have been watching the efforts the American Center For Law and Justice (ACLJ) to get Pastor Saeed Abedini released from prison in Iran. This process has been going on since Pastor Saeed's arrest for being a Christian. He is a naturalized American citizen, yet the State Department and the Administration has done nothing to secure his release.

At church each Sunday, we celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. On several key days at the center of the church year, however, worship takes a particular shape. These central days have come to be known as Holy Week.
'Famous' Irish stew to be served March 14
The Presbyterians are producing their famous recipe of Irish stew and will be serving it with homemade pie from 4:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 14.

The next Lenten Luncheon will be Wednesday, March 13, at Foundry Methodist Church, 5401 Broadway Ave. Host pastors are Dr. Kevin and the Rev. Jana Baxter. The Rev. Dwight Dozier from the Assembly of God will be the guest speaker. 'Approaching the Cross' looks at Passion Week and Rembrandt
David Barnes, director of the Shafer Art Gallery at Barton Community College, will mix art education with religion during an upcoming presentation at St. John's Episcopal Church, 2701 17th St., Great Bend. The free program "Approaching the Cross: Why Rembrandt Matters," will be presented at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 17, at the church.
