Hesston-Bethel books world class musical acts for 2014-2015

HESSTON – South central Kansas will be the destination for five world class musical acts in a variety of backgrounds and genres when Hesston College and Bethel College (North Newton) team up to host the 2014-15 Hesston-Bethel Performing Arts 2014-15 season.

​Grace Community Church hosting Fall Harvest Carnival

Grace Community Church, 210 McKinley St., will hold its Fall Harvest Carnival from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. There will be hayrides, costume contests, and trunk or treat time. Members will be serving soup. Everything is free and the community is invited.

​First UMC planning Oct. 31 ‘Trunk or Treat’ on Forest Ave.

Members of First United Methodist Church, 2123 Forest Ave., will decorate their car trunks and hand out candy on Oct. 31 for Trunk or Treat. Treats will be available from 5 to 7 p.m. on Forest Ave. in Front of the church, located at Forest and Stone.

​Churches planning Chicken Noodle Soup Supper

The Barton County Association of Churches' annual Chicken Noodle Soup Supper will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, at the Prince of Peace Parish Center at 4100 Broadway Ave. In addition to the homemade soup, homemade pies will be served. A freewill donation will be taken at the door. This project benefits Emergency Aid. For questions, contact Nancy Sundahl at 620-793-5894.

​Seventh-day Adventist School presents musical Saturday

The Great Bend Seventh-day Adventist School will present a musical, "God Will Take You Through," this Saturday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at the Great Bend Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1 mile west of 10th St. and Patton Road. It will be presented at 2 p.m. at Sterling House and a final presentation at 6 p.m. at the Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church, 19th St. and U.S. 281 Bypass.

Church to offer Walking Taco Supper

St. Mark Lutheran Church, 21st & Jackson, Great Bend, will host a Walking Taco Supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, in the church fellowship hall. The menu includes build-your-own tacos, dessert and drink. Admission is by freewill offering. Proceeds will go to the Education Assistance Fund to assist children of the church who are attending Christian-based schools.
