Holy Rosary Crusade set for Saturday at courthouse square
Catholics will be praying the Holy Rosary in front of the Barton County courthouse this Saturday at noon, said Ruth McFrederick from Holy Family Parish. King Memorial UMC celebrates 68 years

A church where each person cares for the other. That's how pastor Scott Tempero and members of his congregation describe King United Methodist Church, which is celebrating 68 years of ministry.

When the Civil War was coming on the horizon, God prepared the nation in advance. The first thing he did was to move some men in New York to pray for revival in the land. This became the Second Great Awakening which stretched from the late 1790s through the 1840s. The nation experienced millions of conversions for Jesus and a tremendous growth in church attendance.

Workshop offered on preserving church histories
"Embrace Your Heritage," a workshop for local church historians, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Student Activities Center at Kansas Wesleyan University, located at Claflin Ave. and South Fourth St. in Salina. The workshop will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Registration is $25, which includes lunch. Deadline for registration is Oct. 19.

I have written a number of times concerning the lifting of God's protection on the nation due to its increasing sin and its withdrawing of support from the nation of Israel. This year a documentary called "The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment" was produced by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, a Messianic Jew. I was able to watch this recently. It further substantiated this position.

CLAY CENTER - A Florida teenager made national news giving experts a lot to talk about. Matthew Scheidt, 18, was arrested by authorities after an impersonation stunt. He wormed his way into being a Physician's Assistant at a local hospital. He had an ID badge, had the right clothes and was even trusted by a doctor to do CPR on a patient. Matthew said and did all the right things, so folks gave him a pass in spite of some inner suspicions.
